1. Underwater Egg Hunt: This oh-so-Florida tradition hides hundreds of eggs at the bottom of the pool at Largo's Southwest Recreation Complex. It's for kids ages 5 and older and includes an open swim available outside the hunt area for the entire event. $5. Noon Friday. 13120 Vonn Road, Largo. (727) 587-6720.

2. Sand sculpting competitions: For the second weekend, the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival is holding its first Pro-Am Sand Sculpting Tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and a Family Sand Sculpting Tournament at 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Both are free to watch on the beach outside the huge tent full of sand sculptures and free to enter. Email info@sugarsandfestival.com to register for the Pro-Am. Just show up around 1:45 p.m. to compete in the family contest. If you want to see the professional sculptures in the tent, it's $10 for adults, $8 for ages 4-10 and free for age 3 and younger. Buy tickets in advance online and you get a separate "fast lane-entrance." 10 a.m. daily through April 28. Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach. sugarsandfestival.com.

3. Punk Rock Karaoke: While it seems like a contradiction to take something as light and care-free as karaoke and combine it with the music of rebellion, Dunedin's Caledonia Brewing (motto: "We provide the liquid courage") is hosting its first Punk Rock Karaoke with a live band (while you sing Let's Lynch the Landlord by the Dead Kennedys, maybe?) No cover. 9 p.m. Friday. 587 Main St., Dunedin.

4. Toy Train and Collectible Show: Kids can enjoy a running train layout at this show for hobbyists, with vendors selling model trains, die-cast cars and other collectibles. $5, 12 and younger free. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Lopez Hall, 7177 58th St. N, Pinellas Park. (727) 244-1341.

5. Largo Live: Largo Central Park this week begins its free series of concerts by local artists while vendors set up in the park selling food, beer and wine. This week brings the Betty Fox Band, a quartet that has played multiple notable blues festivals. The free monthly parties in the park run through June. 7 p.m. Friday. 101 Central Park Drive.
